How to Export Tally Data programmatically to CSV or Excel format

Question

I am trying to export data from Tally ERP9 using Python/Pentaho. Is there any way to connect to Tally ERP9 and export the data programmatically or via Pentaho?

Open data (Ledger/P&L or Balance Sheet) that need to be exported
Press Esc and then click Export (Shortcut Alt E).
Choose between Excel and PDF.
Requires a file name
Keep the rest of the information the same.
Ctrl-A or Enter
Tally folder has been downloaded.

Tally ERP 9 is located at c: program filesTallyERP9 and opens automatically. However, in prior versions of Tally, we had to physically navigate to the Tally folder on the C and D drives to open it.
